What is urgent care?

Urgent care is for illnesses or injuries that need attention sooner than a scheduled appointment allows, but aren’t medical emergencies. At Bonneville Family Practice, you don’t need an appointment. You simply walk in during our posted hours, and a provider will evaluate you.

We treat the following conditions:

Cold, flu, fever, or sore throat
Earaches, sinus infections, or eye irritation
Cough, mild asthma symptoms, or allergic reactions
Minor cuts, scrapes, and simple wound care
Sprains, strains, and minor fractures
Urinary symptoms and minor abdominal complaints
Rashes and skin irritation

On-site testing and care

Depending on your symptoms, our team typically provides on-site:

Rapid strep, flu, and COVID-19 testing
Urinalysis and pregnancy testing
Basic wound care, including simple sutures
Splinting for minor sprains and fractures

If your condition requires imaging, lab work, or specialty referral beyond what we offer on-site, we’ll coordinate that for you directly rather than sending you elsewhere to start over.

Urgent care or emergency room?

Urgent care is appropriate for an illness or injury that needs prompt attention but isn’t life-threatening. Call 911 or go to the emergency room for:

Chest pain or severe shortness of breath
Uncontrolled bleeding or major trauma
Signs of stroke (sudden numbness, confusion, or difficulty speaking)
Severe allergic reactions
Any other symptom that feels life-threatening

Bonneville Family Practice accepts most major insurance plans for urgent care visits. Most plans process an urgent care visit similarly to a standard office visit rather than an ER visit, which typically means a lower out-of-pocket cost. Our front desk verifies your coverage and gives you a cost estimate before treatment.

Do you offer DOT physicals during urgent care hours?

Yes. Walk-ins are welcome for DOT physicals during our regular urgent care hours. Bring your license, glasses or contacts if you wear them, and a current medication list.

What should I bring to my visit?

Bring a photo ID, your insurance card, and a list of current medications. If you’re being seen for a specific injury, bringing any prior imaging or records related to it helps your provider evaluate you faster.
